Dr. Kathirvetpillai
Thambipillai
Principal Veterinary Surgeon · Colombo, Sri Lanka

“To care for an animal is to care for the family who loves it. It is a privilege I have not stopped feeling in forty years of practice.”
— Dr. Pillai
A life in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Kathirvetpillai Thambipillai — known to clients and colleagues alike as Dr. Pillai — has practised veterinary medicine in Sri Lanka for over four decades. He is regarded within the profession as a careful clinician, a patient teacher and a steady presence for the families whose animals he treats.
His approach is unhurried by design. A consultation with Dr. Pillai is a conversation as much as an examination — an effort to understand the animal in its household, and the household around the animal.
